Want to try out one of our regular classes before deciding on a membership?
These classes are based in Rocket Yoga. It is like power yoga but with more time at the end to ground and wind down. Rocket Yoga was created by Larry Schultz and the Grateful Dead as a more creative form of Ashtanga.
We call it "Rocket Yoga" not because it is fast but because "it gets you there faster." -Bob Wier. It's creative, playful and naturally energizing.
This class is perfect for beginners and those of you who want to "chill." This flow is slowed down to provide a more relaxing effect. We will break down poses, use props and restore from the inside out.
This class is for all levels and a celebration to end the work week. After class, tell Mecklenburg's that you just practiced and receive a discounted beer.
This class is similar to Slow Flow but with an even more relaxing effect. This is great to add a balance to any advanced or quicker-paced practice or for beginners. Candles will be lit, rejuvenation will be had.
Want to learn more about the philosophy of yoga—or the Yamas and Niyamas?
Join us in the circle on Sundays to talk about practicing yoga "off the mat." We will cover topics like contentment, gratitude, intuition, and mindfulness.
Each session will start with a meditation and end with a guided discussion on each topic.
Ashtanga yoga follows a set sequence that is designed to alleviate tension and pain around the body. This practice holds true to a traditional style of yoga that has been practiced for thousands of years. Ashtanga follows a set of 8 "limbs," one of which being the poses, another is breathing, philosophy and more.
